Jesus Espino signs with Midland University

Nixon Smiley High School senior Jesus Espino has received an offer to powerlift for the Midland University Warriors in Nebraska. He has been awarded a ,000 scholarship to continue his education as an Exercise Sports Science major. Jesus has lifted for Nixon Smiley for the last three years and ended his career with a 5th-place finish in the 198-lb. weight class at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet. He also competed at the NASA High School Championship in Oklahoma City, Okla., finished 1st, won best overall lifter, and broke the squat record in the 220 lb. weight class....
