Mustang powerlifting repeats success at Marvin Allen Invitational

The Nixon-Smiley powerlifting program traveled to Somerset to compete in the fourth annual Marvin Allen Invitational on Feb. 1. The Mustangs joined 12 other teams competing, including Carrizo Springs, East Central, Somerset, Del Rio, Seguin, Pearsall, Cole, Comal Pieper, Bandera, Cotulla, Center Point, and Somerset Brooks Academy. The Mustang boys took first place and the Lady Mustangs took third place as a team. Coach Paul Kirby was awarded Outstanding Coach of the Meet for the boys.
