CAST -- offering hope to child abuse victims

Stranger danger. We’ve all heard it; most of us were taught it as children — “listen to your gut” or “don’t talk to strangers.” That lesson is true. But the Children’s Alliance of South Texas-A Child Advocacy Center (CAST-CAC) is working to advocate another important message: 98 percent of offenders against children are someone the child knows. According to 81st Judicial District Attorney Audrey Gossett Louis, one in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday.
