Support for a four-day school week

Editor: I am writing in support of the Floresville Independent School District’s (FISD) consideration of a four-day school week. This innovative approach is crucial to addressing the ongoing teacher shortage and improving educational outcomes and attendance for our students. No matter how many days students attend school, the quality of their education depends on the availability and caliber of their teachers. Unfortunately, the percentage of certified, traditionally trained teachers in our schools has dropped significantly.
