Lady Mustangs fall short in Bi-District playoffs

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustang basketball team made playoffs and played Columbus at Victoria West High School this past Tuesday, Feb. 11. Leading scorers for Nixon-Smiley were sophomore Grace Gomez with 13 points, senior Janaelyn White with 8 points, and senior Kaylie Morin with 6 points. Coach Trevor Johnson said, “Although we came up short in our Bi- District playoff game, I am very proud of our season. Our girls are fighters and play with a lot of heart, which is evident in every game, including this one. The final score does not show how close of a battle this game...
