ESD 5 board rescinds call for May 3 election on tax

Wilson County Emergency Services District (ESD) 5 won’t have a May 3 election on a sales-and-use tax after all. District commissioners at their Feb. 11 meeting approved a resolution rescinding the resolution they approved Jan. 27 to call for the election. The election would have asked voters in ESD 5 whether they would support an increase in the sales-and-use tax in the district by 1-1/2 percent.
