Floresville Council recognizes Juan 'the Texas Tornado' Talamantez III

Juan the “Texas Tornado” Talamantez III is honored Feb. 13 with a plaque from the Floresville City Council in honor of his training and accomplishments in jiu-jitsu. The 9-year-old Floresville elementary student has been training for the past three years at the Ultimate Submission Academy in both Floresville and San Antonio. Last summer, Juan traveled to Florida for the Pan Kids Jiujitsu IBJJF Championship, where he grappled his way to fourth place in his division. Juan will be competing March 30 in a Superfight at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, which will be live-streamed through UFC Fight Pass.
