Wilson County ceases burn ban

[Video below] Wilson County Commissioners have allowed the burn ban — which has been in place since last August — to expire. County commissioners heard from Wilson County Emergency Management Coordinator Cindy Stafford during their Feb. 24 meeting that the county’s current Keetch_ Byram Drought Index is 561. This index is used to determine fire potential and measures surface moisture on a scale of 0 to 800, where a score of 800 represents the absolute driest of conditions.
