Loose calf causes traffic issues on U.S. 181

A loose calf on U.S. 181 near Shannon Ridge Drive north of Floresville Feb. 18 causes drivers to veer in efforts to avoid it. The calf darted among vehicles. The driver of a pickup stopped, and a passenger in the truck with a rope tried to round up the stray animal. The calf finally left the highway near OBR Metal Buildings and Components, with the truck following it through a field.
