County commissioners consider tax abatement for solar energy project

[Video below] Wilson County Commissioners have approved to consult outside legal counsel regarding a Chapter 312 tax abatement for a proposed solar project in eastern Wilson County. According to the Texas Comptroller, Chapter 312 tax abatement is an agreement between a taxpayer and a taxing unit that exempts increases in the value of the property from taxation for up to 10 years.
