COURT UPDATE

The following defendant was among those listed on recent dockets for the 81st District Court in Wilson County: •Orlando B. Torres, 57, of Converse pleaded nolo contendere (no contest) Feb. 10, after a motion was granted to proceed on a lesser offense of unlawful restraint. Torres was originally indicted Jan. 19, 2022, on a charge of sexual assault for an incident on Oct. 3, 2020. After his nolo contendere plea, Torres was sentenced to two years of deferred adjudication community supervision.
