Floresville hosts annual John Velasquez Tournament
The Floresville High School varsity Tigers baseball program held the annual John Velasquez Tournament at home Feb. 27 through March 1. Gonzales, Navarro, John Jay, Pflugerville Connally, and Floresville competed in the tournament. The Tigers lost their first game against Navarro, 11-4. The Tigers regrouped and took both wins on day two of the tournament, beating Pflugerville Connally 13-2, and John Jay 12-1. Senior Coy Mainz pitched against Gonzales, bringing home the Tigers’ final win of the tournament. The Tigers took the win in the final game, against Gonzalez, 15-0.
