Mustang track and field athletes finish strong in Karnes City

The Nixon-Smiley track and field teams had a great night in Karnes City Feb. 28. The athletes went out and competed very well in all four divisions. Each division had some outstanding individual accomplishments, but the teams also stood out. Out of 11 schools, the varsity Mustangs took second place. The boys scored 158 points, falling behind Hondo by only 1 point. It was a great start to the year for all of the divisions. Each athlete was able to provide points for their team.
