Four-day school-work week bond

Editor: As a retired Floresville school teacher, a four-day school-work week seems absurd. The school system is supposed to serve the best interests of the children; but the teachers’ union is pushing this idea under the guise of the Floresville Independent School District being better able to attract better qualified applicants with a four-day work week. In my opinion, this is adult-centered rather than child-centered thinking. I watch a school bus pass my bathroom window at 6:15 a.m. to pick up elementary school students who attend Floresville North Elementary.
