Mustang powerlifters are Regional champions

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs attended the Region IV Division III meet in Navasota March 7 and won the team title. Nixon-Smiley scored 43 points, which included three first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, two third-place finishes, and one fifth-place finish. Twentythree schools participated, including Boling, Newton, Victoria St. Joseph, Vanderbilt Industrial, Altair Rice, Hallettsville, East Bernard, Orangefield, and Hitchcock, to name a few. This was a special year for the boys’ team, as they participated in six meets and won all of them.
