Wind causes power outages, fans fires

Wind gusts and low humidity in the area March 4 made prime conditions for rapidly spreading fires, keeping emergency responders busy. Wilson County Emergency Services Coordinator Cindy Stafford reported 22 fire calls and 45 emergency medical services calls as winds gusted to 50 mph, in Wilson County, and up to 59 mph elsewhere.
