Lady Mustangs bring home State Champion, fourth as a team at State meet

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs powerlifters attended the THSWPA State Meet March 13 for the 3A Division II in Edinburg. They competed well as a team, finishing fourth out of 60 schools. Out of five lifters, they secured three medals. Zulema Rodriguez became the first State Champion for Nixon- Smiley since 1968, and the first female State Champion in the school’s history.
