Mustangs fall to Brahmas

Despite the Nixon-Smiley varsity Mustangs’ collecting five hits compared to the Stockdale Brahma’s three, they still lost 1-4 on March 21 at home. Federico Vazquez led the Mustangs with two hits, while Julian Amaya struck out 10 batters during the game. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and four runs over six innings, walking three batters. Garet Gonzales got Nixon-Smiley on the board in the top of the first inning with a walk. Stockdale took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when a dropped third strike allowed another run to score, giving them the edge at 2-1....
