Mustangs victorious over Eagles, fall short to Badgers

This past week, the Nixon-Smiley baseball program hosted the Luling Eagles on March 25, and got a much-needed District win. The Mustangs avenged their loss from last season, a close 7-8, and beat the Eagles 5-3. Pitching for the Mustangs were sophomores Nehemiah Alvarez and Jaydin Munoz. Junior Adan Zavala got on base three times with one steal and one RBI. He also got his first hit of the season. Junior Julian Amaya scored two runs as a key player for the Mustangs.
