Beasley family transforms tragedy to hope

“Addiction is an equal opportunity destroyer,” said Kim Beasley, reflecting on the last decade of her life as she watched her 26-year-old daughter, Brianna, spiral in and out of sobriety from drugs addiction. Brianna lost her battle with addiction in July of 2024, when she overdosed in a stranger’s home in San Antonio. Nearly a year after Brianna’s death, the Beasleys continue balancing their hope for justice — prosecution of an individual connected to her death — with looking to the future with hope.
