Homes for Our Troops seeks volunteers for April 26 event

Homes for Our Troops invites volunteers to help with landscaping on Saturday, April 26, at U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Orlando Gill’s future home in Shannon Ridge in Floresville. Gill — who was wounded during his 2004 service in Iraq — is having a specially adapted home built by Homes for Our Troops in Floresville. Volunteers will help beautify the landscape at 113 Tipperary Lane by laying sod, spreading mulch, and planting bushes and trees, as well as helping with set up and breakdown of the event. Check-in is at 9:30 a.m. and work will be from 10 a.m. to noon....
