Attention needed from GVEC members

Editor: GVEC has urgently requested its members to contact their state representatives to oppose Texas HB 3445 and 3448 sponsored by Drew Darby-R and HB 5604 sponsored by Rafael Anchia-D. The electric co-ops in Texas have allowed Telecom companies to use their poles to convey communications. Therefore, the Telecoms don’t have to provide their own poles. A good deal indeed. These three house bills will force the co-ops to allow the Telecoms to attach equipment to these poles at a very low price. Essentially the co-ops would lose control over their own poles.
