TxDOT nixes U.S. 181 crossover closures

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will not be closing crossovers on U.S. 181 after all. Wilson County News reached out to TxDOT to get an update on the project. According to TxDOT Public Information Officer Tanya Brown, the U.S. 181 project will not carry on as originally proposed. “After careful consideration and extensive public engagement, it became clear that there was limited community support for moving forward with the project as originally planned,” Brown explained on April 23.
