Community comments due by June 7 on tower proposal near La Vernia

A 275-foot communications tower may change the landscape near La Vernia in the not-too-distant future. American Towers LLC is proposing the structure, which would be 280 feet tall, with additions, at 8787 U.S. 87 W., south of La Vernia, to support telecommunications in the area. The tower would comprise a 100-square-foot lease area at its base. Comments are invited from the community regarding the tower’s potential impact on the area human environment, as well as area historic or cultural resources.
