Community celebrates five decades of barbecue at Post 539

St. Hedwig American Legion Post 539 held its annual barbecue picnic fundraiser May 18. We have been doing this for five decades and many of the community volunteers have also helped out since they were kids! This post is different from many posts, as it is as much a community center as it is a sanctuary for veterans. This small, historically Polish community is as full of veteran support as the flavor in our barbecue.
