Remembering Loretta Swit, an angel

Editor: News headlines June 2 announced that Loretta Swit — an actress known for her role as Maj. Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on the long-running TV show, M•A•S•H — passed away May 30 in New York. She passed peacefully. As I read about her, memories of events from 1966 were replaying in my head, from Cam Ranh Bay, Republic of Vietnam. I was in a similar-type hospital to that depicted in M•A•S•H, shooting photos of nurses giving comfort to wounded soldiers as they lay in bed, awaiting evacuation back to the U.S.A.
