Wilson County lifts burn ban

The burn ban in Wilson County has been lifted. A ban on outdoor burning had been in place since March 10, due to prolonged hot, dry conditions. The county announced the full lifting of the ban on June 10. Outdoor burning of brush, agricultural debris, and other items is now permitted. Area residents and property owners are encouraged to burn responsibly. Contacting the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office dispatch in advance is appreciated, to advise the location and planned size of any fire, and contact number for the person(s) responsible.
