Stockdale Masons honor educators, students

On May 19, the Stockdale Masonic Lodge No. 470 held a ceremony to honor and celebrate education in our community. Masonic lodges have been supporting public education since the days of the Republic of Texas. Many of the first public schools actually met in Masonic lodge buildings and the Masons often paid part or all of the teacher’s salary.
