Would you like to dance?

This “glimpse of the past” comes from Clarence Ehlers of Floresville. When going through my father’s old stuff, I came upon old dance tickets he had saved from when he was probably 18 to 20 years old, which would have been 1940-42. Two groups of tickets are shown here. This was pre-line dancing in the days of two step, waltzes, polkas, cotton-eyed Joe, put-your-little-foot, Paul Jones, and Grand Marches. In those days, every small town had a dance hall, such as Poth, Kosciusko, Czestochowa, Three Oaks, Sokol Hall, etc. There was always one place, or more, to go dancing on...
