Railroad heritage group takes shape in Floresville

Imagine boarding a train at the old Floresville railroad depot. According to the Texas Transportation Museum website, railroad passenger service ended on Sept. 24, 1950, for Floresville. However, a devoted group of railroad enthusiasts and history buffs want to make it possible again. Members of the San Antonio Railroad Heritage Museum (SARHM) took an opportunity to promote their ideas on June 7, National Trails Day, near the old railroad depot near where what is now the Floresville El Camino Trail crosses Trail Street in Floresville.
