Blaze draws area firefighters

A massive fire in an industrial park in eastern Atascosa County July 26 drew multiple area fire departments to contain the blaze. The fire was reported at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at W.W. Wood Inc., in the 1700 block of Corgey Road east of Pleasanton. The company’s complex includes a wood-processing plant, and stored a sizable inventory of artificial logs, wood chips, and charcoal, to be used primarily for barbecuing. Agencies from numerous firefighting agencies were called upon to support firefighters in Atascosa County.
