County nixes deputy constable proposal

There will be no reserve deputy constables in Wilson County — for now. During their July 28 meeting, county commissioners heard a presentation by Pct. 1 Constable Santiago “Jimmy” Morales, asking them to approve appointing reserve deputy constables. The program was originally presented to commissioners June 23. (See “Commissioners talk reserve deputy constables, autopsies,” June 25).
