Man charged with murdering his wife has connections to Floresville

A Bexar County man accused of murdering his wife has ties to Floresville. Charles Vandoil Byrd, 49, has been charged with murdering his wife, Angela, on June 15 at the home they shared in the 22000 block of Pleasanton Road in far south Bexar County. Byrd had been working as a master plumber for the Floresville Independent School District since 2021. Angela’s death came to light July 18, when Byrd told his son that he had killed her.
