Grass fire spreads to round hay bales

Fire crews from Wilson County Emergency Services District (ESD) 5 Fire & Rescue, assisted by personnel from Wilson County ESD 4 EMS and District 2 Emergency Services, work to quell a grass fire Aug. 8 on F.M. 2579 near F.M. 536 west of Floresville. According to ESD 5 Capt. Ethan Strzelczyk, a grass fire — cause unknown, but possibly a popped tire — was sparked around 4 p.m. and spread to two round hay bales in an adjacent field.
