Floresville is ready for the big screen
The city of Floresville is recognized July 24 by Michelle Habecker of the Texas Film Commission (center) for achieving status as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community. Floresville has graced the big screens in several films, such as Steven Spielberg’s “Sugarland Express” (1974), “The Great Waldo Pepper” (1975) featuring Robert Redford, “Thaddeus Rose and Eddie” (1978) starring Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, and the 1980 Jackie Chan flick, “Battle Creek Brawl.” Habecker presented the certificate to council members Mario Morones (l-r), Marissa Ximenez, and Jake Lamberth, Floresville Economic Development Corp.
