La Vernia Lady Bears defeat Davenport Lady Wolves, 3-0
The La Vernia Lady Bear volleyball team was in action during the Labor Day weekend at the Aug. 28-30 Smithson Valley tournament in Comal ISD and came home with a fourth-place finish in this highly competitive tournament. La Vernia started with three straight wins on Thursday when they swept Hendrickson (25- 13, 25-12), Warren (25-17, 25-4), and Pieper (25-23, 26-24). Friday started with a loss to Johnson (21-25, 27- 25, 20-25) but ended with two straight wins against Madison (25-13, 25-19) and 4A playoff rival Davenport (19-25, 25-13, 25-23).
