Clarence Ehlers shared this snippet. I inherited this vintage wood stove waffle maker from my Ehlers grandparents. This is definitely something that grandma used, and not grandpa. This waffle maker is a heavy cast iron cooking tool designed for use on antique woodburning cookstoves or open fires and consists of two-sided, hinged iron cooking plates with long handles, known as paddles.
