Unemployment rate increases to 4.2 percent

Workforce Solutions Alamo reports the August 2025 unadjusted unemployment rate for Wilson County is 4.2 percent, increasing from 3.7 percent in July 2025. Wilson County’s August rate is lower than the 4.4 percent unemployment rate for the 13-county Workforce Development Area, including Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson counties, and lower than the 4.7 percent unemployment rate for the state of Texas.
