Voters in East Central, LaVernia ISDs will decide 'golden penny' tax proposals on November ballot

Voters in the East Central and La Vernia independent school districts (ISDs) are asked to weigh in Nov. 4 on proposals to capture “golden pennies.” Called a voter approval tax ratification election — or VATRE — voters in both districts are being asked to decide measures that, if approved, would allocate additional funds to daily operations, such as teacher pay and benefits, maintenance, and safety and security.
