Boenning Farm is 'most beautiful'
It was 1936, and the George Boenning farm in Wilson County was named the winner and “called most beautiful” in the Wilson County Beautification of Rural Homes Contest, according to an article in the San Antonio Express. After winning the county contest, the farm also took top honors in the district-wide contest.
