School library council to form for Floresville ISD

Floresville Independent School District (ISD) will soon have a School Library Advisory Council to oversee the library materials in the district. Senate Bill 13 was signed into law Sept. 1 by Gov. Greg Abbott. The bill adds new requirements for school districts regarding library materials and catalogs, including: •Parent access to catalogs and control of materials their student can access •Updates to the school system’s library materials acquisition process •Ensuring an effective library materials challenge process and, if appropriate, the use of a local library advisory council.
