La Vernia police arrest suspect in stabbing

La Vernia police have arrested a local woman after following a blood trail leading to her apartment. Officers with the La Vernia Police Department were dispatched Oct. 20 to a convenience store in the 12000 block of U.S. 87 W. for a possible stabbing after an unconscious man was discovered there, bleeding from the neck. First responders identified the victim as James Hernandez, 39, of La Vernia. Officers Bryan Crasher and Richard Cordova noted a trail of blood at the scene and followed it across the highway to the Post Oak Apartments.
