Pirates are undefeated District Champions

The 2025 Poth Pirates varsity football team finished the regular season undefeated in District for the ninth season in a row Nov. 7. The Pirates defeated the Dilley Wolves, 42-7. For the regular season, the Pirates amassed 4,403 yards of offense, versus 1,841 offensive yards for their opponents, outscoring their opponents 425 points to 119 points. The Pirates scored 58 touchdowns (26 passing, 32 rushing) versus 17 for their opponents (2 passing, 15 rushing). Poth will compete in their first playoff game on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at home against the Taft Greyhounds. Watch for updates at wilsoncountynews.com/scores.
