Mustangs open season with win

The Nixon-Smiley Mustangs boys basketball team tipped off their 2025 campaign in convincing fashion on Nov. 21, traveling to face the Nordheim Pirates and returning home with a decisive 61–21 victory. From the opening whistle, the Mustangs applied relentless defensive pressure, creating turnovers and fast-break opportunities. Their unselfish ball movement, spacing, and willingness to make the extra pass allowed multiple players to contribute offensively. Statistically, Nixon-Smiley showed just how balanced they can be.
