County emergency ops center to open

Wilson County will celebrate the completion of its new Emergency Operations Center with a ribbon-cutting event on Monday, Dec. 1. Broaddus Construction, the contractor for the project, will host the event, set for 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to witness the ribbon cutting at 802 10th St. (U.S. 181), adjacent to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office. The 8,341-square-foot building will house the county fire marshal, emergency management office personnel, and more. It is designed to provide real-time emergency management capabilities and interagency collaboration in major events, such as flooding, tornadoes, or other incidents.
