Sofia Agquiz is martial arts National Champion!

Floresville Middle School sixth-grader Sofia Agquiz receives prizes Nov. 22 presented by Joey Perry (left), vice president and executive director of Professional Martial Arts Conference (ProMAC), and Manuel Obregon, owner of Sidekick Karate School USA, after she won the Beginners Division ages 10-11 at the ProMAC 2025 National Championship in Grand Prairie. Sofia has a passion for martial arts and has been training alongside her father, Enrique Agquiz, since the age of 5. Together, they take pride in being Filipino American martial artists. Sofia will next compete Dec. 6 in the Suzuki Cup in Dallas.
