Fatal crash closes U.S. 181 between Poth and Floresville

Update on 12/18/2025 – The Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol has identified the individual killed in a Dec. 16 crash on U.S. 181 between Floresville and Poth as Darryl Royce Brown, 75, of Floresville. For more on the crash, see the Dec. 24 Wilson County News. Update: U.S. 181 was reopened at 4:30 p.m. Southbound U.S. 181 is closed to traffic at C.R. 221 between Floresville and Poth, following a fatal vehicle accident around 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.     One person has been pronounced deceased following the collision.
