Texas History Essay Contest is now open
The Sons of the Republic of Texas is now accepting entries to its 2025-26 Texas History Essay Contest. The essay topic is “Tejano Heroes in Revolt for Texas Independence.” The contest is open to all graduating high school seniors, including home-schooled students. Scholarship prizes of ,000, ,000, and ,000 will be awarded to the top three entries. Entries must be postmarked on or before Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.
