Wilson County communities respond to extreme cold

As “Winter Storm Fern” prepares to dip most of Texas into freezing temperatures and potential icy conditions, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and Extreme Cold Watch for South Central Texas, including Wilson County and surrounding areas.     Hard freezes are expected Saturday night, Jan. 24, through Monday night, Jan. 26, with a long-duration freeze — almost 48 hours — anticipated for the Hill Country and Austin area.
