Wilson County enacts burn ban, effective immediately

Wilson County is now under a 91-day burn ban. The ban, approved by the Wilson County commissioners Monday, Jan. 26, is effective immediately. Under a burn ban, outdoor burning of brush, agricultural and construction waste, and other material is prohibited. Burning of trash is allowed, but must be in a screened container or pit. Outdoor burning of trash is permitted only in unincorporated areas; no burning of trash or other materials is permitted within city limits at any time.
